I think there are some N-words we should consider getting rid of…but nuance isn’t one of them.
My mood at the moment.
Leave me out of the limelight…and just let my life speak.
“Don’t think of prayer as an impersonal requirement. Realize that it is a person, the Lord Jesus Christ, with all authority and with all love, who expects us to pray.” ~ Donald S. Whitney
“In this world, Christians will always live with an affinity for sin that will say, ‘If I have to serve, I want to get something for it. If I can be rewarded, or gain a reputation for humility, or somehow turn it to my advantage, then I’ll give the impression of humility and serve.’ But […]
“Jesus never uttered opinions. He never guessed…He knew, and He knows. His words are not as Solomon’s were, the sum of sound wisdom or the results of keen observation. He spoke out of the fulness of His Godhead, and His words are very Truth itself. He is the only one who could say ‘blessed’ with […]
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being involved in your local church…but God didn’t create the universe and then retire into full-time churchwork. God is not just interested in being Lord of the church…He’s interested in being Lord of all things. And the way that happens is that as we bring everything in our lives under […]
Christians who fail tend to avoid other Christians…especially when they are feeling bad and guilty in the midst of their failure. It’s sad to see this dynamic of the law happen in the church and then see the opposite happen in Twelve Step groups. In these recovery groups, people are taught that the very first […]
“If your picture of a disciplined Christian is one of a grim, tight-lipped, joyless half-robot, then you’ve missed the point. Jesus was the most disciplined Man who ever lived and yet the most joyful and truly alive.” ~ Donald S. Whitney
“The Christian life is a life of paradoxes. We must give to receive…realize we are blind to see…become simple to be wise…suffer for gain…and die to live.” ~ Author Unknown
“The reason that we don’t act like Jesus in the world today is because we don’t see like Jesus saw. If we would see things the way He sees things, then we would act the way He would act.” ~ Skye Jethani
“Has your character ever been questioned because you ate or drank with sketchy people? Not everyone in the neighborhood is cleaned up and easy to be around. We need to be willing to follow Jesus and choose to be with others in uncomfortable situations, because we can’t always expect people to come onto our turf. […]
Luke 5:31-32 “And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (KJV)
Hopefully, this becomes a regular phrase in my life…and in yours.
