Keep Hoping In God!

2 Chronicles 1:7

“In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, ‘Ask what I shall give thee.’ ” (KJV)

Imagine for a moment that you are King Solomon.

Your father, King David, has recently died, and you replaced him as king. You’re young, nervous, and afraid, because you’re not sure if you can fill your daddy’s shoes. Additionally, you’re still dealing with your own grief from your brother Ammon’s failed attempt at becoming king in your place.

What do you do, and to whom do you turn? Do you turn to God? And if you do, is God even concerned about you?

I suspect that this is not only Solomon’s concern, but ours also. Theoretically, we know God cares, but is that relevant to our current dilemma? Fortunately for Solomon (and for us), he dared to believe God. He prayed to God, offered a large amount of sacrifices and “In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee” (v.7). Not only did God give him what he asked for but he blessed him beyond his greatest expectations.

Beloved, God is Concerned About Us.

Dear Lord…help us always remember that you never cease to care about us, and that we can always turn to you. Amen!
